workabout is the website of Calderdale & Kirklees Careers Ltd. Workabout is for use by people who live, work or study in the Calderdale or Kirklees local authority areas in the county of West Yorkshire. Calderdale & Kirklees Careers cannot offer support or advice to anyone outside the Calderdale or Kirklees area.

Users of workabout are expected to abide by the terms and conditions listed below.  For surveys, competitions and prize draws appearing on workabout, please also see any additional privacy policy or terms and conditions.

Your use of workabout is taken as your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Individual users of workabout
Components of the workabout website, including downloadable materials such as PDFs are for personal use by people living or working in the Calderdale or Kirklees area only and should not be copied or reproduced in any way for any other purpose.

Use of workabout by organisations and their staff
Schools, colleges, LSC funded training providers working with young people, non-profit making voluntary and community groups in the Calderdale or Kirklees areas and whose clients live or work in the Calderdale or Kirklees area may use workabout materials with:

• individual clients
• small groups of young people on LSC funded programmes or attending local partner schools or colleges.

Use by such organisations is subject to use of the material(s) in full (no alterations, other than those intended as part of the materials function, are permitted) and the individual clients must print off the materials they need themselves ie organisations must not print off, copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, republish, display, post or transmit materials without our permission in writing. The source of the material(s) must also be acknowledged.

Permission other than the above or for use by any other person(s)/organisations living and working or operating outside the Calderdale or Kirklees area or for any other purpose, including copying, reproduction, modifying, distributing, republishing, displaying, posting or transmitting to other organisations or individuals, must be obtained in writing by contacting the Information Services Manager, Katren North T: 01484 226765

Privacy Policy
Calderdale & Kirklees Careers may collect personal information from you when you contact us via workabout. Your name, address, school or college, phone number or email, when supplied, may be used to reply to your enquiry. However, we do not share personal information obtained via workabout with any other organisation without first obtaining your permission. We may add details of your enquiry and our reply to other internal records we hold from previous contact(s) with your personal adviser or adult careers adviser; this enables our staff to be up to date with the help you have received.

Enquiries normally receive a written response within two days unless there is a delay in receiving a reply from a third party, in which case an explanation of why a delay will be likely will be provided.

We are sorry but we reserve the right not to reply to anyone from outside the Calderdale or Kirklees area who contacts us via workabout.

Calderdale & Kirklees Careers operates in accordance with the Data Protection Act, details of which are available from the Information Commissioner’s Office. Under the Act you are entitled to obtain a copy of any personal data we hold on you.
